As usual, Jimmie Johnson and his Lowe's Chevrolet team was in the hunt for the victory in Sunday night's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The five-time Nextel Cup champion's night went sour in his final stop as miscommunication in the pits allowed for a costly mistake to happen when the 48 team's fuel man was unable to pull the fuel can out from the car's intake receptacle. The mistake not only cost the Hendrick Motorsports driver a chance at the win, it also took him off the lead lap and out of the top 10 as Johnson crossed the finish line 11th, a lap off the pace of race winner and teammate, Kasey Kahne.
