Jeff Gordon's unlucky streak continued in Saturday night's Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Twice Gordon had to pit due to a flat right rear tire. On the second of those stops, the 4-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion was forced to the garage to rectify his issues.

It was a typical Talladega race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' Aaron's 499. There were three major incidents which of course led to a bunch of tore up race cars. The wrecks on the track forced many drivers to break NASCAR's pit road procedures for pitting before the pits were open in order to avoid further damage to their cars. Brad Keselowski took the victory over Kyle Busch in what proved to be Dodge's first win at Talladega since 1976 when Dave Marcis was victorious, a length of nearly 36 years.
