Race 2 - Subway Fresh Fit 500 Penalties

Sunday's Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway proved to be a trying race for Ryan Newman and his Wix Filters Chevrolet team. Newman's pit crew lost control of equipment in the pits just past the 100-lap mark in the event, forcing their driver to restart at the tail of the field. Then in the closing stages of the event, Carl Edwards got loose under Newman's 39 car, making contact and sending Newman into the wall. Even with the tail of his race car severely damaged, Newman was able to salvage a respectable 21st place finish in the desert.
